Jonathan gave our group a super fun, informative tour of historic downtown Charleston. We were all locals and loved hearing the rich history of our town. I would highly recommend doing this tour even if you’re a local!

Jonathon is so knowledgeable and passionate about Charleston. This tour was so much fun. We learned a lot while enjoying the company of such a wonderful tour guide. He has a great sense of humor, yet handled the darker, more sensitive history with respect and compassion. We highly recommend JWalk Tours.

Walking tours don’t get better than this! Jonathan is very passionate about the history of Charleston and it really shows in his tour. I’ve learned a lot about the city I love (the good, the bad and the ugly) and have never laughed so much on a tour! While Jonathan has a great sense of humor he was very respectful with the more sensitive information and really shed light on this side of history throughout the tour. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Charleston or locals who want to learn more about their city!

This tour was worth every penny and then some! Do you feel like hearing stories that are funny, powerful and inspiring? Then this is the tour for you. Jon was amazing, smart, kind and entertaining. I can’t wait to come back and do it again

My girlfriend and I took this tour last week. Where to begin? I'll start by saying that this may have been the best walking tour that I've ever experienced, and I've done a fair amount of them. Charleston is a beautiful and historic city, so there's that. Our guide, Jonathan, elevated the experience to such a great degree through his unique storytelling that it took the tour from a strong A to an A+++. The tour had a natural cadence to it as we walked, taking us on engaging accounts of the comprehensive, deep history of Charleston - we were engaged the ENTIRE time. Jonathan welcomed questions and maintained a highly personal connection with the group so that you didn't feel like you were listening to a scripted host just spitting out facts. We felt that we received more than our money's worth in terms of content, and yet the distance we covered was still a manageable walk for everyone. Jonathan’s passion for the city was obvious to all. If you are a photographer, definitely bring your camera because you are going to get some great shots. Book this tour if you visit Charleston.

My wife and I eventually got to do our delayed trip to Charleston. We signed up for JWalk tours on the recommendation of our hotel, The Vendue. We were not disappointed, Jonathan was fantastic- the history and knowledge he imparts as we walk through the historic district is amazing. The stories of the buildings and the people was so well describe. If ever you are Charleston don’t pass up the opportunity to take this tour.

So many choices for which Charleston walking tour to take, but I finally chose this one online and hoped for the best. Boy was it the best! Way better than I anticipated it being, as I am originally from Charleston. It is obvious that Jonathan has great knowledge of Charleston's history, but most importantly he loves the city and loves sharing the stories. That made it a really fun morning for all. Highly recommend.

What a great experience! Jonathan is extremely well versed in the History and Culture of Charleston. The walk was very manageable with many stops along the way at historic buildings and sites. Jonathan revealed so many stories related to the background of famous events and people who are part of the history of Charleston. Would highly recommend The Chicora Walk to anyone looking for a comprehensive and enjoyable tour of this charming city. We had a great time and we are still telling people about what we saw and learned. Much better than any carriage ride. Jonathan is "the Man!" November 2, 2021
