Itinerary

The tour starts at Ted Sperling park and from the launch we begin our adventure. We start by paddling on Sarasota Bay. This shallow water bay is a great place to practice using the equipment and getting some pointers from the guides. Our tour takes us to the canals in front of the mansions on Lido Key and though they are beautiful to look at, our real goal is to spot dolphins and manatees that frequent the area. Keep your eye open for ospreys, bald eagles and cormorants--all of which are often hunting for fish. The highlight of the tour is a paddle through the windy tunnels carved into the mangroves. This unique ecosystem is home to birds, fish, seastars and crabs. Your guide will take you through the maze of mangrove tunnels, pointing out wildlife as you go. At the end of the tour, your guide will take you back to the original launch site. During the tour, the guide will take some photos that we are happy to text to you.

Had such a nice time kayaking. So glad we chose the guided tour. Sam was a great guide! Very knowledgeable about area. We will definitely book with SURFit again.

Paddling through the mangroves was really pretty. Phil, our guide pointed out interesting things and shared lots of information about the area. Down side was too many people on the paths so it was hard to see a lot of the interesting things in the water.

Phil was an amazing tour guide and our family loved the kayak experience through mangrove tunnels. We learned a lot, had a ton of fun for all ages from 6 to 65!

Our guide, Sam was terrific and we had a great paddle through the tunnels. We spent about two hours paddling and saw starfish, lots of (non-stinging) jelly-fish and mangroves. Our guide was very knowledgeable.

An awesome tour through an amazing natural habitat. The tour service was super friendly and our guide, Orion, was very knowledgeable and engaging. He welcomed questions and took care that everyone knew how to use their equipment and enjoyed the excursion. Definitely a must do activity if you love the outdoors and seeing local habitats.
