One of the best experiences on Maui is our Champagne Sunset Sail. Beautiful vistas of the West Maui Mountains & Lahaina Town from the majestic Maui waters and a spectacular view for sunset. Enjoy bubbly champagne and chocolates together with our other complimentary beverages â€“ white wine, local beer, sodas, juices & water â€“ before you dine or party the evening away in Lahaina Town.

Sailing on the Scotch Mist is an exhilarating experience with a full main sail and billowing jib as we travel where the wind may take us. Our sailing yacht will only carry up to 22 passengers for an intimate group setting.

Your captain and crew are experienced mariners that enjoy being on the water as much as our guests. Do not forget your cameras for photos of the beautiful scenery, colorful skies & stunning sunsets! The Champagne Sunset Sail is a special excursion combining a little bit of luxury relaxation â€“ with the thrill of Sailing and the possibility of sighting the natural wonders of our Humpback Whales (during season). Book early so you can do the catamaran, which really moves and goes halfway around Maui. The Scotch Mist just sits half a mile from the harbor then motors to Kahana and back. No movement = no breeze and the sun is intense. Nice crew, but not a nice experience. Again, do the catamaran.

The crew were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The trip was relaxing, peaceful and beautiful! Plenty of champagne for everyone! Took photos of us too!

Loved it! We saw a ton of whales. We had never been on a sailboat—it was so quiet and fast! Crew was great. Too my mom and daughter—we enjoyed the short sail.

Capt. Eric and mate Nate gave us a terrific afternoon. Eric found good wind quickly, put us under sail and we started seeing whales all around the boat. Lots of full breech leaps along with pectoral fin waves and tail slaps. Free-flowing champagne and beer along with pleasant fellow travelers made for a terrific sail. All was topped off with a beautiful sunset. Eric and Nate made sure we were well hydrated and Eric was a great conversationalist as we were sitting in the cockpit just forward of the wheel. We would go again, no hesitation.

A great sail with Capt. Eric and Nate this afternoon. Found good wind and started seeing whales spouting and breaching all around us between 100 and 500 yards out. We had whales. champagne and beer for the entire cruise plus a great sunset. We chose well today.

This was such an amazing experience! Got the see the sunset, amazing drinks and company. Both Eric and Nate we’re great hosts - friendly and personable. We were able to see a few whales as well! Would highly recommend!

We loved it so much we went a second time (and may go third). First mate Nate and Captain Eric were fantastic and fun crew. They kept us entertained and tolerated our champagne fueled jokes. The boat is beautiful and the scenery amazing. An excellent Maui adventure.

What a way to end our stay in Maui! The sunset over Lanai was stunning! Even though there wasn’t much wind for sailing, Capt. Steve turned on the engines and made sure we had every chance to do some whale watching—twice the whales passed under our boat—INCREDIBLE!! Thanks, Steve, for an amazing experience!!

Overall a really nice experience, except for something that was troubling. When we boarded, one of the guests made a big deal with the captain about being an experienced sailor. It seemed that his ego was as big as his boat. Our Captain was a very nice guy who seemed very competent, but it really surprised me that he let this customer take the helm and sail the boat! This made me very uncomfortable as when you book such a trip you expect that the crew is fully licensed, qualified, etc. even though the captain “supervised” the patron at the helm, I still think it was as not appropriate. Despite my stomach ache over this, the sunset and whale sightings were beautiful.

Great sailing. Breeze was great for sailing. Saw many whales. Santa Cruz 50 (Scotch Mist) is a performance sailing boat and very fun to sail. Much better sailing sailing then a big cat. Captain Steve and Captain Erik are knowledgeable sailors. They made sure all guests had a great experience.
